Ghana National Stadium

Ready to move, now.

This does not have to wait. If the right government takes it up and brings investors on board, work can start now. Here is what is ready, and what would come next.

An independent vision.#

Ghana National Stadium and Ghana National Sports City are an independent concept, ideated, conceptualised and visualised by NEXKOOMSON.

NEXKOOMSON is a creative studio, not a construction company. Our role is to imagine the vision and make it visible, so that the public, institutions and partners can discuss it with something real in front of them.

It is not a government project. No public body has commissioned, endorsed, approved or funded it, and no site has been chosen.

Nothing here is final. The renders, film and drawings are proposal stage material made with digital and AI assisted workflows, and every part can be refined. Full, state level visualisation and design would be developed once work formally begins.

What NEXKOOMSON has done.#

The vision is ready to put in front of decision makers today.

Ideate

The national question, the rationale and the story: why Ghana needs a flagship stadium now, and what it should stand for.

Done
Conceptualise

The architectural idea of the Black Star and Ananse's web, the Sports City masterplan and the P01 concept drawing set of 14 sheets.

Done
Visualise

Proposal stage renders, a concept film and this website, so that anyone can see the vision and talk about it. All of it can still be refined.

Done

What happens when a government takes it up.#

These steps can begin as soon as a government decides to lead, with investors on board. They would be run by the government and its partners, with NEXKOOMSON supporting.

Independent review and feasibility

Demand and capacity, possible sites, transport, the business case and consultation with federations and communities.

Led by Independent specialists

Engineering, environment and approvals

Structure and roof, fire and crowd safety, environmental and social impact, energy, funding and statutory approval.

Led by Licensed professionals and public authorities

A national decision

Whether, where and how to proceed would be decided by the appropriate public bodies. Any delivery would be theirs to lead, with qualified partners.

Led by Government and its partners

At every step, NEXKOOMSON can support partners with creative direction, visualisation, storytelling and public engagement.

2027: a chance to start.#

Public reports say the 2027 Budget Statement is scheduled to be presented to Parliament on 12 November 2026. This proposal has not been submitted for inclusion and we make no claim that it will feature.

It is a chance for the government to fund feasibility now, so a flagship stadium can move from vision to reality without waiting years.

What we know is unresolved.#

Athletics configuration
Some renders show a running track; the P01 pitch sheets are football only. A decision is needed on a permanent track, a temporary overlay or neither.
Capacity
The P01 schedule counts 80,874 seats. Demand, safety and egress studies may change this.
Roof structure
The web roof, star opening and suspended display have not been structurally analysed.
Energy
No generation, storage or self sufficiency figure is published until an energy study exists.
Transport
The transit hub shows conceptual bus and rapid transit modes. No link has been planned or approved.
Site
The masterplan is illustrative. No land has been identified or acquired.
Cultural content
Adinkra symbols and their placement should be reviewed with a cultural adviser.
Likeness and music rights
Portrait content on the facade and the film soundtrack require confirmed permissions before wider distribution.
